Atrax is penetrating a new market segment with technology that integrates seamlessly with self-service baggage check-in solutions.
At airports the check-in environment is evolving. The traditional environment of each check-in counter having its own staff member and baggage conveyor belt is being supplemented by software-driven self-check-in solutions. Airlines and airports are making increasing use of self-bag-drop systems with built-in baggage scales, which passengers use to identify and check themselves in; have their bags weighed; print their own boarding pass and even pay for excess baggage fees, before proceeding to security.
For travellers, the new strategy means shorter queues. For airlines and airports, it means a shorter check-in process that requires fewer staff and less space.
Atrax Group CEO Kevin Maurice says Atrax is winning market share because its scales integrate so easily with other software systems.
“Transferring weight data into our customers’ software systems from Atrax airport baggage scales can be done absolutely seamlessly and, with Type Approvals in most countries, we are assisting our self-bag-drop system clients to market their technology to a much wider international market,” he says.
